-Grasslands receive about 10 to 30 inches of rain per year, depending ontheir location in the world. If they received more rain, the grasslands wouldbecome a forest. If they received less, they would become a desert.

-Grasslands are often located in the zone between deserts and forests.

-Grasslands are found on every continent except Antarctica.

-Wildfires are a vital life factor for grasslands and local plants haveadapted to them growing extensive underground systems. Fires kill mostsaplings, and remove the thatch of dead grasses, rejuvenating plants and allowingearly flowering spring species to grow.
